The two countries signed a joint declaration on “Friendly Relations and Good Neighbourliness” and several others relating to energy, education, agriculture, sports, technology and tourism. It has also been agreed that Turkish citizens can visit the following 10 Greek Islands, without a visa, for a period of 7 days throughout the year: Limni, Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Rhodes, Symi and Kasteloris (Meis).

The European Parliament in Brussels officially recognised Alanya as ‘the Capital of Sports’ for Türkiye in an award ceremony in Belgium in early December. This prestigious award was received by Belediye Başkanı Adem Murat Yücel and reflects the continuous efforts of the Belediye to host many international events over the years.
May our title of ‘Alanya, the Capital of Sports’, which we officially received at the European Parliament in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, be beneficial to our city, our region, our country and our nation.
The annual Christmas bazaar was held on the weekend of the 9th December in the Harbour area of Alanya. This was yet again a truly festive celebration and featured presentations for many different nationalities. The abundance of food, music, arts, crafts and festive spirit was heart-warming as the welcomed winter rains washed across the darkened skies. All that was missing was a flutter of snow!
