MAYOR OZÇELIK: ‘WE WILL CONTINUE TO REMOVE THE BARRIERS IN MINDS’

Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, in his speech at the opening; “We are happy to bring both the Respite House and the Barrier-Free Sports Park to our Alanya within the scope of the Disability Week. The Respite House is an important support service where our disabled individuals can spend time safely and their families can take a short break from their daily lives. The Barrier-Free Sports Park is designed as an area that both supports physical development and increases social interaction. With these projects, we aim to eliminate not only barriers but also inequalities of opportunity. It is possible to remove physical barriers; the main issue is to overcome the barriers in minds. With this understanding, we will continue our work with determination.”

PROJECT THAT GIVES FAMILIES A CHANCE TO BREATHE: MOLA HOUSE

The Respite House Project, implemented by Alanya Municipality, offers an environment where individuals with special needs can spend time safely and enjoyably. The Respite House, which aims to give families a breathing space in daily life, alleviate the burden of care and improve the social skills of special individuals, stands out as an important part of an accessible and inclusive social service infrastructure.

MOVEMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION ARE SUPPORTED WITH THE BARRIER-FREE SPORTS PARK

The Barrier-Free Sports Park was created by utilising a previously unused area. The park, which aims to enable disabled individuals to actively participate in social life as well as their physical development, was designed entirely in accordance with the disabled. Thanks to the accessible structure of the park, individuals with disabilities have gained a more active and inclusive living space not only physically but also socially.
